Pally is now fully compatible with Universal Robots(UR)’ Polyscope X operating system. This marks a significant step forward in flexibility and long-term support for cobot palletizing. In this article, we explore the key updates included in Pally for Polyscope X and how they contribute to making automation even more accessible for resellers and end users of UR.
Key New Benefits in Pally for Polyscope X
- Redesigned Graphical Interface
- Built to meet future cybersecurity requirements
- Fully utilizes the advanced motion control system by Universal Robots, OptiMove
- Offline Pallet Builder (Coming end of May 2025)
Read on for more information on each of the new features.
Offline Pallet Builder for Greater Flexibility
One of the most requested features over the years has been the ability to configure palletizing patterns directly on the teach pendant without relying on an internet connection or additional hardware. We’ve heard your prayer! Thanks to the new architecture in Polyscope X, Rocketfarm has been able to introduce an Offline Pallet Builder directly within the Pally URCap. Our offline builder is intended for straightforward use cases where the auto-generated pattern provides sufficient flexibility. For many projects, this is more than enough – and we aim to get you started quickly and deploy with confidence.
How does this work? When choosing Pally you’ll for the lifetime of the license have access to the offline pallet builder ensuring you always stay on top. For the resellers, this does not only mean that they’ll be able to deploy their solutions more efficiently but this means that the end users will have an easier way of supporting their own production line.
For more advanced scenarios, users can still choose to work with MyRobot.cloud, Rocketfarm’s cloud-based platform for simulation, validation, and pattern optimization. It is the combination of an offline tool and a powerful cloud environment that gives integrators and end users the ability to choose what best fits their setup.
A Redesigned GUI for a Smoother Workflow
In addition to this functionality, Rocketfarm has updated the Pally graphical user interface. The new GUI has been designed with usability in mind and is now more intuitive, helping both integrators and operators work more efficiently. Calibration is simplified, monitoring is clearer, and navigating the interface requires fewer steps. This reduces onboarding time and minimizes human error during setup and operation. Whether users are building their first pallet or managing multiple cells, the new interface supports a smoother workflow and increased confidence during operation.

Built to Meet Future Cybersecurity Requirements
This update also addresses long-term viability and compliance. With the introduction of the Cyber Resilience Act in Europe, cybersecurity will become a legal requirement for industrial systems by 2027. Polyscope X, built on Debian 11, is compliant with these new regulations, and Pally for Polyscope X ensures you’ve both solved palletizing and remain aligned with future compliance requirements.
While these changes are most pressing for companies operating in the EU, adopting Polyscope X and compatible software like Pally is a smart move globally. It brings users into a modern, secure architecture that is actively maintained and designed to support new functionality as industry standards evolve.
Honorable Mention: Maximizing Throughput with Smarter Motion Control
With Universal Robots’ launch of Optimove, Pally now fully utilizes this advanced motion control system to significantly increase palletizing efficiency. Optimove dynamically adjusts acceleration and deceleration, optimizing speed profiles to reduce vibration and wear, ultimately extending the lifespan of the robot while also increasing palletizing speed.
Pally’s standard path planning achieves approximately 11 cases per minute. When Optimove is enabled, efficiency increases up to 35 percent, raising throughput to around 14 cases per minute for single picks. With Pally’s multi-pick feature, manufacturers can reach 28 cases per minute with double-pick, making it possible to significantly boost productivity without requiring additional hardware investments.
Optimove is also available for Polyscope 5.21, ensuring that existing users can take advantage of its motion control capabilities.
